Re: Parking Boots



It would appear from this resolution that you can have your driver's license suspended for failing
to pay one parking ticket!  There is no mention in the resolution about procedures for disputing
the citation, consideration for people who fail to receive notices because of out-of-date mailing
addresses, or other errors which are no fault of the accused.  Also, the boots can be used for
non-payment of 3 tickets within 15 days.  Thus, it is likely some folks who do not use their car
for a couple weeks will find the boot installed without having any awareness of a violation notice.
I find this unnecessarily harsh.  While I recognize that a few people get a lot of citations and do
not pay, these measures seem to come down hard on others who might make an honest mistake or have
been incorrectly ticketed.
