RE: (Fwd) School Questions

Thanks to Dr. Ed Fisk, superintendent of Moscow School
District, who provided the following answers to the
questions that John Danahy posed on this list last week:

The levy election is April 23. Voting will be from 8AM
until 8PM in the Jr. High Fieldhouse. [1410 East D St.]

Absentee ballots are available in the District Office
(Clerk's Office) during regular office hours
(8AM until 5PM) weekdays, or they may be requested by
mail. [650 N. Cleveland, Moscow, ID 83843] If you are
registered, just show up and pick up a ballot (which you
can complete on the spot if you like). If you are not
registered you only need to bring a driver's license so long
as it lists your current address within the district. (Call the
district office 882-1120 if you have a question or need
more complete details.)

The current supplemental levy is $4.5 million. The $1.1
million, if approved, will be added to that. We also
collect from local tax payers a $2.3 million M & O levy that
is mandated by state law, a required $99,000 tort levy and
$890,000 for the current bond (funds from which were
usedfor construction of a part of the high school facility
and the McDonald Elementary gym).

Actual state support is $7.5 million. This does not include
some smaller amounts of dedicated funds (i.e., lottery
money).

When is the levy election?

How does one get an absentee ballot for the levy election?

Including the 1.1 million levy, how much will the district
collect in local property taxes?

How much actual state support does the district collect?
(Actual state support = total state support minus
equalization)
