Hello. I feel it's time to bug everyone again with my (apparently useless)
request to please not send attachments or HTML mail to the v2020 (or any
other) mailing list. This is Bad Form. Not all of us are blessed with DSL,
and attachments kill download time. It would be far better if people who
feel the need to send a document to the list put it somewhere on the web and
send a link to it. Then, those of us who want to download it can and those
who don't, don't need to.
An added bonus is stopping virus spread. It seems after every attachment
laden email, a round of emails goes out warning of the viruses in said
email. The most recent email is no exception to this rule.
HTML mail is also Bad Form. It's hard to read and can also carry virii.
Please set your mail software up to send mail in Plain Text. It makes life
easier for everyone. If you insist on html formatting your email, you could
(again) just set up a web page to get across your salient points and send a
plain text email with a link. Here is an example:
I recently went snowmobiling in Elk River with my eldest daughter, it was a
lot of fun! Check out http://www.ryjones.org/gallery/ElkRiverSnowDay for
pictures!
See? You didn't have to download a meg of pictures if you didn't want to.
Much easier for all of us.
