For Karri, who asked why people are tearing down the MMGC, I'd like to point
out asking for some accountability from a charity is not tearing it down.
Look at the whole 9/11 thing... at first people who questioned what the Red
Cross was doing were ridiculed by everyone, including the stars of the
concert. Then it came out that the Red Cross was doing something funny, and
that got changed post haste. A little light and heat made everyone feel
better.
For Shelley, Barry, and the rest of the downtown Moscow merchants who have
had it up to here with the MMGC: Follow CJ's lead. It's just a day. The MMGC
doesn't own the calendar. Make it a whole week, have your own celebration,
raise money for your own event. Call it the Moscow Merchants Mardi Gras
Committee. Call it whatever, just do it.
For everyone else, if you feel anything either way, why not say something?
It seems like it's the Shelley, Tex, Karri, Barry and Ry show. Pipe up!
