I read the French's letter to the editor, John Danahy's post to this
listserve, and the feature article in the LMT. I had to decide fast, because I
did not know about the election before this weekend, and I was leaving Moscow
today (Monday) to be gone for the week ... hence, I had to vote absentee.
Frankly, I was unpersuaded by either letter, and was perplexed by the bitter
undertone in John Danahy's post. Contrary to his children's experience, our
family has enjoyed a very good experience with MSD teachers, resulting in
college readiness and then some. I don't know how to explain the discrepancies
in experiences.
Although I expect that this is a difficult climate in which to ask for
financial support, I determined that it was justified and worthwhile. I voted
yes.
If I can be of any influence, I urge you to do the same.
I also support COMBINED ELECTIONS! It is a lot easier on absentee voters.
For whatever it is worth,
Susan
Palmer
