Re: Winter & Chipman Trail Safety
I run on the trail regularly, and the bridges are slippery for runners,
too--particularly the light frost that we get more often than snow. So, the
idea has appeal, but I'm wondering how it would impact rollerbladers (pun
intended), all year long--particularly children who aren't going to
immediately see the danger, won't read a sign, etc..
My solution has been to just walk for those few yards when the bridges are
icy and I'm inclined to think that's easier for me to do than for a
rollerblader coming upon a surface that is suddenly gritty.
But maybe the grit wouldn't bother a rollerblader--I don't know.
