No surprise, I agree that Idaho public school teachers
should be better paid.

I think, though, that Idaho ranks absolutely last among the
states only in salaries of beginning teachers. While I don't
think experienced teachers are paid as much as they should
be in Idaho (and the state doesn't rank high on that measure
among all the states), I think being at the bottom for
beginning salaries is an almost guaranteed way to get the
country's least qualified beginning teachers. Unless you do
a sensational job touting the quality of life here.

And no surprise, teachers already employed in Idaho apply
what political pressure they can to improve the salaries of
teachers already employed.

Speaking of quality of life, I notice that we now have more
freedom in Idaho than they do in Montana. In Montana the
state has moved to prevent snowmobilers from riding on the
lakes there. In the summer. 



 there is a logical present situation is about as bad as it
could get.
