getting mauled

So, did they get away with it?
Did the owner/managers of the Palouse Mall clearly and knowingly violate
Moscow city ordinance by ripping out 100 trees and bushes from the
public right-of-way early one Sunday morning?
I think the answer remains yes.
And what did the city of Moscow do about this?
The city's negotitated and gutless response was to take a $36,000
payment that will barely cover buying and maintaining plants
significantly smaller than the ones killed by the mall, and to bring
criminal charges NOT against the mall leadership that orchestrated the
illegal tree-killing episode, but instead against the local contractor
(Wasankari) for doing the work.
So, did the mall owner/managers get away with it?
Yup.
