City Council: zone change request

Visionaries:
The City Council will hold a public hearing on Monday at 7:30 p.m. on a
request to rezone property at 605 West Third street (behind Bestway
Carpets) from multi-family residential to motor business.  This is a
continuation of a public hearing held last month.
The Moscow Planning & Zoning Commission denied the zone change but the
applicant has appealed to the City Council.   According to the city
zoning ordinance, a variety of uses are permitted under motor business,
including fast-food restaurants.
I encourage anyone interested to drive by the property this weekend to
determine whether motor business is an appropriate use for this area
bordering Ghormley Park.  If you'd like more information, please call me
at home at 883-8321.  (I have copies of the P&Z minutes recommending
that the rezone be turned down.)
