Boy... I hate to be a pessimist but it sounds like a scam to me!

Visionaries ....
This evening I received a call at home from a person soliciting
donations in behalf of the Idaho Peace Officers Association.
He said that the Association's project this year was bicycle
safety.
He proposed that I donate $75 and in return receive a handsome
blue and gold Tee shirt.
I asked if they had a website where I could evaluate the
Association and its projects. He said no.
I said I would consider a donation if first they would mail me
some literature describing the organization and its intended
project.
He said he would, but first, I had to commit to a modest donation,
of say $5-10.
I pressed harder for literature, first. He refused, thanked me,
and hung up.
What about it, Visionaries? Can any of you tell me whether the
Idaho Peace Officer's Association is legitimate and whether they
have a record of worthwhile, donation-cost-effective projects?
And who are members of the IPOA? Individual peace officers,
public policing agencies, or both?
What do you think about this?
Dan Weaver, are you reading? Can you shed any light on this?
