Credit where credit is due, Roadless areas

Question:
On Friday Joshua W. Burnim, Roadless Initiative
Organizer, posted a notice about the upcoming panel
discussion on the Forest Service Roadless Initiative
to be held at the college of Law on April 13. When he
listed the sponsoring organizations he listed the
following groups: Environmental Law Society, Palouse
Group of the Sierra Club, Friends of the Clearwater,
The Idaho Conservation League, Clearwater Biodiversity
Project, Palouse Chapter of the American Fisheries
Society and other student groups.
In a separate notice from Andrew Robinson,
Associate Professor in Forest Mensuration, I learned
that the event is being co-sponsored by the
Palouse/Snake River Chapter of the Society of American
Foresters and the friends of the Clearwater. I also
found out that along with those previously listed,
other sponsoring groups are: Cove/Mallard Coalition,
Resources Recreation & Tourism Association, Student
Environmental Action Coalition, Wildlife Society, and
Xi Sigma Pi.
So tell me pray tell: Is the preservationist
movement so paranoid that they can't list a major
sponsor and student groups because they contain
members that support proper timber management and
harvest of our nations forests? Are you so afraid to
acknowledge the fact that the "Industry" side of this
initiative may actually want to work out solutions to
this controversial issue? Do you actually think that
you are the only ones that care about the health of
our nations forests and the stewardship of our
roadless areas?
     See you at the forum.
