Done Deal?

Thanks to Maree McHugh for info. on the recent Hwy 95
meetings.  Thanks also to Sen. Gary Schroeder whose
message to me appears below.

It appears this community-changing freeway is, in
fact, inevitable and that those of us concerned about
the wisdom of the  project and its impact on our local
environment must recognize that decisions were made
without our input, a long time ago in a place far
away.

Any candidates care to comment on what this says about
the democratic process?

As I understand the situation, the money for the
project was
appropriated and specifically identified in a bill
passed by the U.S.
Congress and signed by the President.   I do not
believe it can be
changed.
