Re: Taters
To explain the mall's motive, the usual mall rental agreement includes a
structured, variable rent, that increases based on a [variable] percentage
of the store renter's gross income. As[suming] the gross income of the
renter increases, the money owed the mall by the renter (based on the
chosen rental percentage) increases above a cerrtain pre-determined minimum
rent payment. Seemingly the mall believes that another tenant will either
bring in greater volume, hence rent, from Taters itself, or will draw more
shopping prone customers to the mall who will increase sales in other
stores in the mall more than the current/former customers at Taters.
