Citizens for Aaron

Dear Visionaries;

   A new community organization has been founded this week with the sole
purpose to persuade Mayor Marshall Comstock to appoint Aaron Ament to
Moscow's city council. Petitions are being circulated so that Moscow
residents can show their support for Mr. Ament, just as they did four
months ago when he was named on forty percent of the ballots in the general
election. Now, another position becomes available because Tony Johnson
plans to move to a new house outside the city limits.
   This is a good opportunity for this community to demonstrate that the
selection process is important to them and that the workings of local
government are of vital interest. Furthermore, it allows the mayor to
acknowledge that he serves with the consent of the constituents and to show
that he and all the council members are willing listeners.
   The coordinators of Citizens To Appoint Aaron Ament, Mike Curley
(882-3536)(curley@cypher.turbonet.com) and Evan Holmes
(883-4918)(ncmholmes@moscow.com) will answer questions about this
initiative and supply petitions on request. Petitions will also be
available at BookPeople, The Moscow Food Co-op, The Wine Company of Moscow
and other locations.
