Re: COLUMBINE AND GOD IN THE SCHOOLS?
Dear Bert: I do not know you or Don Coombs. I have heard you are usually
reasonable men. I am glad to hear you to have a long and abiding
friendship. I to believe in a seperation of church and state as you do. I
do believe, however, in a modified seperation. I believe that children
should not be put through a war zone in the class and that is what goes on
here about church and state. I once heard a cardinal explain his beliefs in
church and state. He said, "There is a rail on the railroad of society that
is state and one that is the church. Society rides in a car on the train
that moves along the railroad. If the tracks get to close to one another
they cause the train to come to a stop. If the rails on the other hand are
forced to far apart the train derails and there can be a major crash of
society." I believe the Cardinal had something. But, don't you or any man
attack the Lord and make light of his importance in all of this. with all
due respect;
