Idaho schools and the SR

I received the following e-mail this morning and I'm afraid I don't know
enough about the subject to have an opinion (haven't lived here long enough
to know how hard it is to pass a school bond). I'm throwing it out here
just to see if anyone is interested in writing the Spokesman Review....
jm

"Idaho is the toughest state in the nation in which to build a school,
because there's no state money available and because the school bonds must
pass with two-thirds of the vote. There are many school districts in Idaho
that have overcrowded, inadequate -- even dangerous -- buildings. If the
Idaho Legislature doesn't do something this session to address the funding
situation, the state Supreme Court will force the issue. What do you think
should be done? Should the two-thirds vote be lowered to 60 percent? Should
the state help in some way to pay for school buildings?

The Idaho Spokesman-Review wants to hear your opinion about this important
subject. In every public opinion poll we conduct, education always is the
No. 1 priority for North Idaho residents. We're looking for your ideas, to
be considered for publication as a letter to the editor.

We need to know your name and where you live in order to publish your
comments. Please take a moment to respond to tell us your thoughts (In 250
words or less!).
Sincerely,
Ken Sands
