Please accept this comment solely in response to Charlie's note--it is NOT a
comment for or against Mr. Tonn's statements.
1. The fact that there is NO editing is probably the best reason why the
listserv itself would not be liable for statements made on it. Without getting
into detail, there are circumstances under which the listserv would have to
take action--to take an extreme example (I hope), if plans to ACTUALLY
overthrow the government were being passed through this medium. So, the
individual authors are probably hanging out there on their own.
2. Truth, of course, is a defense.
3. Bad form, however, is not...
