Re: Charlie Brown
Mr. Powell,
It was not out of ignorance that I made such comments about Mr. Brown.
I talked with him once about every two weeks for 2 years. My whole point
was not that Mr. Brown was so disgusting, but that people actually thought
his lifestyle deserved recognition. It seems that the idea of free speech
is a little overwhelming to you if you have to start speaking of lawyers and
editing for a public forum.
My main concern is where society is headed if we not only accept, but
celebrate sick and perverted behavior, regardless of tragic life
circumstances leading up to it.
I have endured previous assaults on my character by members of this list
and have not gone running to an attorney. I have taken it like a man and
even reflected upon their points(Ken Medlin made some good ones). I guess
in todays society that if someone hurts your feelings you have to sue them.
Do you really think this is right? Is this the America our forefathers
envisioned?
You can criticize me for disparaging a deceased man's character(I
expected that), or argue that this type of behavior is acceptable in today's
society, but don't go dragging down the 1st amendment with you.
