At the risk of sounding rediculous and of being branded a social
reductionist, I would like to postulate a grand, sweeping 'reversal' of
the whole system, based on a statement by the last known surviving
Yana-Yahi Indian in Northern California, around l912: "The white man
knows many things, some of which are true; but I know Nature, which is
always true." (Cf. Theodora Kroeber, "Ishi in two worlds" U-C Press,
l969). This wisdom can still be useful, tho it won't save us from
negative effects of certain forces now unleashed by western
globalization policies.// Greg, your views and background info. are so
useful to what's going on around here. Keep up the comments! Ken M.
