Telephone Solicitation Act

Visionaries:

The Idaho Attorney General will again introduce legislation in January
concerning telephone
solicitation.  It would add a new section allowing Idaho citizens, for a
$10.00 fee, to sign up
for and be placed on a "no telephone solicitation contact list."  The
legislation would prohibit
telephone solicitors from calling people on this list and trying to sell a
product, and is
would also provide penalties for telephone solicitors who nevertheless do so.

Similar legislation was introduced during the last session but was defeated
primarily due to
some heavy lobbying by U.S. West.
