Re: Another Tragedy on Highway 95/example and test

Ok Good people,
Im going to lay out an example and a test that anyone that drives can
perform(this is related to Duncan's speed consistency and Greg's what is
safe post's )
Do this around 4:30 and 5:30 PM (No new drivers and do not take the kids!)
Drive south on 95 find mile post 342 continue on at speed. After a rise you
will find the road dips down and then up in a long left hand sweep. As the
road straightens up and rises you will note Snow road on the
right..continuing up the hill and near the top you will find a curved road
warning sign and underneath a 55 mph post that was 45 a few years back. Just
a little further you will see a left turn post for Zeitler rd. at mile post
341.
Now stop for any on coming traffic(Sometimes you get to have a chip truck
coming at you and one coming up in back) and turn left at Zeitler rd.
After you are done with this(Im guessing exciting test) get out and see how
many simple things could be done to improve the odds of not getting totally
removed from your skin.
Is the 55 sign helping or not(Im shooting for not and Ive called the state
on it)
On the return to town(north) stop to take the left at Snow road.
For added effect imagine ice and snow while performing these tests.

Of coarse a new four lane road will likely fix these .But then on the other
hand they have been that way for years and many simple cheap immediate
actions on the states part could have helped prevent a good many of the
documented accidents in that area(including Death)...In my humble opinion.
As for Riesenauer hill I will out of respect for and the sensitivity of a
few poor souls leave it out for the time being.
I think Road safety funds and action should have priority over any other
interest. Some will tell you that is the case. I don't buy it.
