I think one structural problem with that is the ownership of the nation's
huge grain storage facilities and the transportation of farm products to
shipping points. Some years ago I learned with astonishment that most of
the grain storage operations were owned by foreigners (Italians, Germans,
Japanese, French, etc.) and Americans somehow had lost control of this
business. If we can't control storage, we can't control price. If I'm
dead wrong on this, I'd like to be shown.
