The Moscow Linear Park Task Force is continuing to function. Roger
Blanchard hopes to regularly send the group's minutes to me to forward to
the 2020 list.
Here are the minutes of the August 10 meeting. BL
--------
Minutes
Linear Park Task Force
August 10, 1999
Present Absent
Judy Brown Damon Burton
Sam Scripter Steve Drown
Becky Chastain Sylvia Ferrin
Roger Blanchard Linda Pall
Judy reported that Steve has emailed Delphine about working with the task
force to develop a graphic presentation. Roger has talked to Alan Davis
from Pullman Parks about their adopt-a-park program and learned that
successful projects in Pullman have been those involving one time
installation, rather than ongoing maintenance. This is similar to Roger's
experience in Moscow.
Sam will be attending the Zoning Board of Adjustment hearing on August 17.
They will be discussing the use of the Busch property located east of where
the new section of Highway 95 will cross Paradise Creek south of Highway 8.
A 10 foot easement which would be available for a linear park path is being
considered along the south side of the creek.
Bids are slated to be opened on August 13, 1999 for grading and paving at
Berman Creekside Park. Roger will email the results to the members.
The $65,000 budget request for fiscal 2000 for Berman Creekside Park phase
II development was scaled back to $39,600. This will reduce the scope of
the phase II development so the planting may have to be done in phases.
Sam noted that he thinks the task force should place particular emphasis on
acquiring property along the creek from the Sweet Avenue project to Sixth
Street.
The next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, August 24, 1999 at 5:30 p.m. in
the City Hall Annex conference room.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
