Just wanted to say that I also got the impression from the article
mentioned that all the cat deaths were being attributed to coyotes. It is
unfortunate that some apparentley bad reporting or miscommunication is
going to muddy the waters on this. As for the coyotes, we have found a
probable coyote scat at the edge of our yard here (we live just south of E.
City Park) and I do not doubt the Moscow Police reports of coyotes in town.
It is unlikely that coyotes would be taking dogs because for the most part
they are not wandering around w/o their owners and cats are much easier
prey than dogs (in general). Also cats that can move freely in and outdoors
are more active at night or early morning when the coyotes are likely to be
roaming around town.
