Proposed LID's for West C Street

Gib Myers:
I am providing comment on the 2 proposed LID's on West C Street in Moscow.
As I understand, the two proposed projects would pave virtually the entire
section of C Street from Cherry to Almon, and would not involve spending
Moscow taxpayer money to do so. The local residents have agreed to pay for
the paving, because they will reap immediate benefits from that upgrading
project.
I understand also that the City Council will be discussing this proposal on
Monday, June 21, and that a minority of the local residents have hired
attorneys to defeat this proposal. Perhaps these local residents are upset
at being outvoted on this proposal, but I do think that it would be in the
best interests of the city to agree with the 60 percent majority of resident
property owners who want to pave C.
C Street has become an arterial. I use it myself often for travel between
Pullman and the north end of Moscow where I live. The present dust,
chemical runoff, erosion and washboard streets will all be resolved by the
acceptance of these proposed LID's.
The C STreet neighborhood has voted for it, and I think that the city should
accept their willingness to improve this part of Moscow.
