Bill,
I stopped in at Hemp Fest on my bike this spring. I was hoping for a
little contact high. Alas no such luck. This gathering of the tribes was
not the smoke-in the name suggests. What ever happened to truth in
advertising?.

Subject: Hemp Fests
The Moscow council committee meeting this morning included discussion of
the
citizen request to do something about the illegal stuff supposedly
happening
at the Hemp Fest (in East City park in April). (see announcement below).
I spoke with Randy Rice (head of the parks dept) after the meeting this
morning. Randy said that no action to shut down Hemp Fest or increase
police activity during Hemp Fest is expected. Basically, the committee
agreed with the city officials that Moscow should not shut down this kind
of
event on the possibility that illegal activity might be occurring maybe, or
because some people may not like it. BL
