City Improvements Alomg Major steets

An timely quote from Robert Speer, mayor of Denver
(1904-1012,1935-1947) "Ugly things do not please. It is much easier to
love a thing of beauty_this applies to cities as well as to persons and
things. Fountains, statues,artistic lights,music,playgrounds,parks,etc
make people love the place in which they live". The discussion about
having a parking lot or a fast-food plave at the Wren spot made me think
of other locals on the city's main throughfares that need attention. How
about the unsigtly area along the Troy highway on the south side before
the intersection? And the area just north of downtown on Highway 8 (that
funny shaped buidling has gotta go on the corner). The idea for parks
and playfieldcws along Mouantain View is so far the best progress that
the city is doing so far. Ideas such as parks and walkways at the
entrances are great to. Maybe Moscow can step into the next century with
pride in its efforts to improve its appearance..
