Re: Wren House Cafe property

I agree with Sam's assessment of appropriate use of the Washington St.
corner property and adjacent lot(s). Not only could it be put to more
attractive use as an entry to Moscow, but I hope someone looks at the
safety factors of adding another drive-in there. That corner is already a
bit dangerous as cars coming from the east on Troy Highway cruise onto
Washington street. Those exiting the Credit Union lot and the Chevron
station pumps are already at risk at that corner. A fast-food in the same
area makes it all the more insane.
As for an attractive entrance to Moscow, we could use one
somewhere, at least at one entrance. The best place for beautification on
the south approach should have been done at the top of the hill at Lauder
and Styner Avenues. Perhaps, now we could consider strip parks and walkways
on the hill on either side of the highway approaching Lauder and Styner
Avenues - parks and walks from L.&S. streets to the base of the hills or to
Palouse River Dr. beyond. They would also enable safer pedestrian and bike
access to town from the mobile home parks and other residents in that area.
