In response to Sternberg's suggestion below, I can probably speak for 
the Co-op board/staff in replying that opening the new store and getting 
this new ship on an even keel is likely to take the next year.   The 
idea of the Co-op selling gasoline, despite Moscow's pricing problems, 
is premature. 

That doesn't mean that this question of cooperatively purchased and 
cooperatively sold gasoline is a bad one.  

As the editor of the Co-op's newsletter, I would encourage and welcome 
any articles examining this option.  Is there interest enough to 
research options, prices, etc.

The Co-op is now a solid business doing $1,100,000 annually.  With 
enough economic rationale and community support, perhaps the Co-op could 
be able to find a way to sell gasoline.
