Re: People's Republic of Idaho?
I am an out-of-town (out-of-continent) interested observer of your
community debate about Moscow's future.
I think you have a great structure here to support and compliment
traditional and democratic processes.
I have not seen what has gone before but I am planning to promote such a
model for our own town here south of Dublin, Ireland and will (if you
folks don't mind take) some some lessons from your approach.
I am a development poet by profession and use my craft to stimulate
interest or make a point and find verse has the capacity to summarise and
reach depths that prose cannot(or that I cannot reach with prose). Also
with everyone under such time constraints these days, many seem not to
have space for prose.
I wrote one piece for example about experiences in the course of many
visits to Moscow (Russia) some years ago:
There is something vivid in the Russian air
Towers domed and taller than despair
An archipelago of dreaming souls
Patiently still paying all their culture's tolls
The Russians have a saying
That you shouldn't eat the blosson
Wait until the fruit is fuller
Breathe its scent of course
And feed yourself upon its color
Hay Machine (e)
I believe we have a lot to learn from eachother.
Kind regards and best wishes
