Peter Basoa Update
The news is good, relatively speaking. After some more tests, the doctors
found that Peter has suffered from a very tiny stroke in the brain stem area
near the reticular activating system. The good doctors are encouraged that
Peter will be able to have a full recovery, but it will take time. He is
still unable to move his left arm, but hopefully physical therapy will help it
to heal. His mind is sharp and he is in good spirits given the circumstances.
Yesterday, Mary Blyth presented Peter with his award from the city. The best
part of the day was when Clarence Johnson came over and gave him a shave and
serenaded him with his accordion. Thank you Clarence! Peter is still
extremely weak however and needs a lot of rest, so we are asking that people
give him some more time before coming to visit. He knows and really
appreciates all the love and support that everyone has been sending his way.
Thank you all for caring.
