Effective Citizens
At the Seattle journalism conference, I met Steve Silha, co-founder of
an organization in Seattle similar in intention to Moscow Vision 2020.
That group, called Good News/Good Deeds, focuses on building community
and effective citizenry.
At my request, he sent their definition of an effective citizen. Any
comments on that definition?

>helping a lost child to fixing (or flagging) a broken system
>o Know where to go to get accurate information
>o Know where to go/what to do to get things done
>o Listen twice, think about things
>o Discuss public issues and think bigger than themselves
>o Vote
