RE: Tucson, AR and Orange Co, CA
MoscowSam, I agree with you. Being from Moscow and having graduated from
MHS in 78 and the U of I in 84, I've been able to see the changes in growth
and development in Moscow over an extensive period. The key here is to
monitor and limit rapid and unplanned development in the region. When
growth and development occurs it needs to be done smartly. The only way to
do that is by ensuring Moscow's City Council and Planning Commission clearly
understand the severe impact rapid growth and unplanned development has on a
community and comply with residents' wishes rather than bowing to
developers' pressure. I'm currently stationed in Tampa and plan on
returning home to retire. I've also seen the damage rapid growth and
unplanned development has in the multiple locations I've been stationed.
I'm glad to say that the changes I saw in Moscow at my recent 20th year High
School reunion (Jul 98) since I last came home (1993) seemed very positive.
Let's hope they stay that way.

We all should be grateful for the existence of Tucson, AR and Orange
County, CA,
and their likenesses: we do not have a place for all those souls,
here in
Moscow, Latah County, and north Idaho!
