Obviousness

As a Moscow resident of six years or so I am grateful to this
well-stirred community for helping me through a time that would heve
been much more difficult without the support of individuals who act
spontaneously in concert to reassure a fellow human that one's social
value does not depend on one's ability to make a large income.  Money
can't buy what Moscow bestows freely on earnest folk who take the leap
of faith and contribute to the elevation of our mutual quality of life
without demanding immediate gratification of their needs or supposed
rights.
Obviously, nothing is obvious to everyone.  The gentleness of Moscow is
shown by the fact that no one has chosen to counter-attack, only to try
and understand and explain to the person who thinks her veiwpoint is
universal some kind of other way of seeing the issues she is all steamed
up about.  Let her see how beneficent it is anyplace else.  We are too
small to get a lot of government money to put everyone on all the social
programs they think they need.
Why misdirect so much of our energy?  Ah, yes, the unfounded allegations
I subscribed too late to be privy to.  So what?  If someone is worried
about getting a bad rep, the best remedy is to live in such a way that
no one would believe it.  That goes for Moscow, too.
