Pool debate and Retreat addendum

The discussion on the pool seems to be getting a bit...uh..murky.
John's concern included below concerning the land price needs a
thorough response. This is the sort of thing that can really cloud
any issue campaign.

On another but not unrelated topic:
I think the upcoming city-wide retreat presents an excellent
learning opportunity. The featured speaker is from Missoula if memory
serves. Would it be possible to have organizers from Missoula's
active and vibrant NEW PARTY to accompany this fellow? The NEW PARTY
has really stimulated issue debate in Missoula. And some of this
debate comes at a very opportune time as well--before the city
elections. There are usually three candidates for each open
spot now. An organized multi-party city council election
sounds great to me. That's not intended as a slam at our present
city politicos at all. They seem extremely dedicated and hard
working (particularly frequent "vision" contributor Linda Pall.) It
just seems that a campaign about ideas and issues would be helpful.
The NEW PARTY has helped make that happen in Missoula. Why not here?
Nobody has enough time? I thought so. That's why we the last election
was uncontested, right?
