You have not lost touch! I have raised my son to not act out of impulse.
>From the first thing he grabbed in a store at two that he did not NEED to
touch. He had his hand abruptly smacked and he realized that he was doing
something he shouldn't.There is a difference in what a child needs and
wants and that is as simple as something in a store that he or she WANTS to
touch or fondle. My son was given other opportunities to be inquisitive
and explore, but not at other peoples expense. If parents don't begin early
to teach and guide children to not act out of empulse, but to stop and
think before doing something they will have more trouble later on. This
form of learning begins very early and can be taught at two when your child
is determined to put their hands where they don't belong.
I ate on occasion at the Nobby and offen at the Deli with my son and never
felt unwelcome.
