Dear Linda,
You neglected to mention one person whose vision, persistence and energy over
the past decade was responsible for the city's successful acquisition of the
1912 MHS: Linda Pall. If not for your interest (and ability to inspire
others), the school district might have torn the building down for a parking
lot or too-small playfield years ago.

I hope that whatever advisory committee the city puts together to study
potential uses and funding sources makes use of the 2020 list as a forum for
discussion. I was impressed with the creative ideas that emerged in response
to the request for suggestions for a new swimming pool.

Again, thanks for your leadership on this issue.

Dear Visionaries:

At the risk of burdening the listserve, let me thank all of you who so
generously donated dollars toward the purchase of the 1912 MHS/Whitworth
Building! We have surpassed the purchase price and have dollars earmarked
for the necessary fiscal and facility planning to make this purchase the
outstanding community facility is can be.

Let me also thank all of you who gave moral support!

Those who could not contribute money right now may be able to at another
time. We all will be asked to help with the future of this community
resource. Our ideas, hopes and dreams all need to be considered. The
potential of this building for city uses, senior citizens' center, arts
facility, library technology branch, family center, and possibilities we
haven't even thought about yet (no, not swim center...) is exciting to think
about. The next stage is planning for possible uses of the building and
financial planning for those uses with a combination of public and private
funds.

People power pulled the dollars together...people power will shape its new
life.

Thanks to my fellow members of the City Council for sharing a dream, to the
Moscow School Board for helping to finalize the deal, and to the hundreds of
people who have put money down to back their confidence in the future of this
important community asset! Without you all, we could not have come this far!

Stay tuned for celebration/thank you plans in the near future.

Linda Pall
Moscow City Council member
