Bill, perhaps you could forward a question or two to Jeanne:

1. What research has been undertaken to document increased use of the
available pools in the area and how that has changed over the past several
years? I think data on this would be important when it comes time to
encourage support for the pool.

2. What efforts have been undertaken to research alternative ways of
financing a pool besides an up or down bond levy?

As to what three features I want in a pool:

1. suitable for competition
--size of pool meets USS or USOC requirements
--adequate space for spectators
--pool depth at both ends adequate for diving

2. part of an overall recreation building plan

3. large enough for multiple use, i.e., we should be able to have a few lap
lanes going continuously, with room for ongoing water aerobics, swim
lessons, scuba classes, etc.
