Regarding the term limits law, I believe that the limit is two terms. For
those who were in office at the time the law took effect, the two term
limit is for the next two terms. Thus the mayor could run for another term.
What is more interesting about this is the effect it will have on our state
legislature. The next cycle of terms is the last for many of teh long term
legislators. The leadership positions, which have generally gone to senior
senators and representatives, will be up for grabs as there will be noone
available with long term seniority. there is apparently some attempts
being made to overturn or bypass the law.
