John has raised an issue about the "senior kegger" that I've been grappling
with as well. I, too, heard that the local law enforcement personnel
(county?) showed up at the bash, confiscated the alcohol, then told the
students that the sober ones should drive the drunk ones home.

Is this what we as a community want? When law enforcement winks at the law,
where does this leave parents who do not want their sons and daughters to
drink? How did it help those students who resisted the peer pressure by not
drinking or attending the party?
