The droning sound is the UI power plant at the corner of Sixth and
Line. Isn't it amazing how far the sound can carry? When living at the
top of the hill near East City Park, the hum was almost constant and
most noticeable in the evening when other sounds, especially those of
traffic, were less conspicuous. Our new location near Moscow Junior
High is much quieter. We don't hear the hum or the traffic.
