Now I have to respond to the implication that I need a new life....
The source of that "fun fact" was a UI disgruntle who did not want
to have his/her name associated with the info (fearing retribution on
his/her department), and so contacted me asking me to get this info out in
some way. That person's point was that the UI could have used the money
in better ways, of course.
I am impressed by the responses, clarifications and all that have
resulted. I'm glad I did pass on the info.
And yes, I suppose that not only was the question posed to the
payroll office on UI time, but also the payroll office found the answer on
UI time as well.
