Great apples

Last week, Ron Hatley posted a notice about a Clarkston farmer (Gary Hagen)
whose apples local chain grocery stores have decided to discontinue. The
reason the stores won't sell Hagen's apples anymore seems to be the ever so
bothersome paperwork involved in dealing with small growers.

Mr. Hagen will be selling his apples at Friendship Square in Moscow this
coming Saturday morning. I haven't been able to reach him to find out what
time he'll be there, so you may want to call him in advance -- his number is
in the phonebook. I've bought empires, galas, winesaps, and fujis from him
-- all excellent quality and highly competitive prices. Several of his
varieties are good keepers so buying by the box makes sense. His cider is
great, too.
