I was pretty irritated four years ago when the coverage consisted of
repeated readings of statewide races, read from the wire services. I
complained then, and sent in a request today on the NWPR Talk Line
requesting that we get at least cursory local coverage.
It isn't difficult: lists of races can be readied in advance so a reporter
need merely make some calls. Most of the results are available Tuesday
night. It might mean a late night for a reporter, but it's only once every
four years, and anyway, that's journalism.
Let's hope this election NWPR really is "covering the region with in-depth
news...".
