Sixth street "Bike" lanes

A public ***THANK YOU*** to the City of Moscow for putting up the "No
Parking on this Side" signs along Sixth Street this week. Last Friday I
counted eight cars parked where the bike lane is supposed to go.

It has been a bit of a let down for us bicyclists to see the parked cars
sprouting like morning glory along the street. These signs should help.
There are still problems with bikes being ridden against traffic where the
path used to be.

Of course, the stripes and bike lane signs will help even more. Let's hope
that the Idaho Transportation Department will do this before the
October/November snows begin to fall. If you're game for doing more than
hope, give ITD District 2 Engineer (Jim Carpenter) a call. His number is
799-5090. His fax number is 799-4301. I don't have any information on an
e-mail address (and I would be surprised if they had one that actually
worked).

Happy cycling.

Tom
