My issues involved the ethics of a working reporter serving as a
legislator--being able to slant stories (or offer space in the sections)
to benefit friends and slam political enemies. Also in this case given
Vera White's age and experience in relation to the other reporters, the
possibility for her to affect other news reporting since she has the
institutional and historical information the other reporters need for
their work.
It just never seemed clean to me.
