I appreciate the Co-op's efforts to beautify its corner of Third Street,
especially the picnic table and the bike racks. However, I think it was
a mistake to plant evergreens on the Almon Street planting strip -- it
would have been better to continue the deciduous trees at a spacing
similar to those on Third -- they'll grow up and provide visibility
under the canopies, while the evergreens (spruces) will just grow up
straight into the power lines above. (Plus they tend to be unstable
once they get big because their roots aren't very deep.)
