Tribune is coming to town

A display ad in today's Lewiston Morning Tribune announced that the
Tribune was coming to Moscow, and supplying coffee and dessert for those
who want to come over and discuss the paper. What an opportunity for
those interested in talking about media coverage of this area. And since
the Tribune and the Daily News are owned by the same company, it's also a
chance to specifically discuss the local "paper" as well.
A group of 8 Tribune managers and reporters, including managing
editor Paul Emerson, reporter Andrea Vogt, editorial writer Jim Fisher,
and city editor Diane Pettit--plus publisher Butch Alford--will be there.
The meeting is scheduled for January 30 (Tuesday), 7pm, at the
Moscow High School. The ad said the place was the MHS commons area,
which I assume is the lobby area where 2020 meetings have been held in
the past.
This could be a good time to discuss whether it is ethical for an
editor to also be the president of the local chamber of commerce, as is
now true for the editor of the Daily News. Or to talk about the future
of the electronic Tribune. Or to discuss expanded coverage of the
Palouse. or........
