I have a copy of the election results from Moscow and thought people would
be interested in seeing them.
With an embarassingly low turnout of only 2445 voters (16.2% of the 15102
registered Moscow voters), the results of today's city council election are
as follows:
Votes Percent of voters
Marshall Comstock 1590 24.1%
Pam Palmer 1446 21.9%
Tom LeClaire 1273 19.3%
Mark Leeper 1148 17.4%
Gary Young 1141 17.3%
So the Council winners are Comstock, Palmer, and LeClaire.
The presidential candidate results are:
Bill Clinton 739 35.7%
Colin Powell 427 20.6%
Bob Dole 417 20.2%
Pat Buchanan 103 5.0%
Bill Bradley 67 3.2%
Phil Gramm 62 3.0%
Jesse Jackson 48 2.3%
Steve Forbes 42 2.0%
John Hagelin 38 1.8%
Alan Keyes 32 1.5%
Harry Browne 16 0.8%
Lamar Alexander 15 0.7%
Bob Dornan 13 0.6%
Richard Lugar 13 0.6%
Arlen Specter 12 0.6%
Lowell Weicker 8 0.4%
Lyndon Larouche 7 0.3%
Charles Collins 4 0.2%
Art Fletcher 3 0.1%
Tom Shellenberg 2 0.1%
I wonder if the low turnout was
a) the weather
b) general apathy
c) lack of coverage of the race by the newspaper
