I have been very pleased with Dan Kemmis' visit. During his talk last
evening I enjoyed the image of a town's Mayor joyously participating in the
community Farmer's Market. I was also touched by his descriptions of
Missoula's greenbelt developing by collective action. I felt a sense of
pride for the work that we are doing on Paradise Creek.
We had a very nice press conference this morning at the PCEI office with
Leigh Robartes of KUOI/Pacifica Radio, Eric Sorenson of the Spokesman
Review, and Greg Burton of the Daily News. The reporters seemed very
interested in his message.
This evening PCEI is hosting a reception for Dan in Pullman.
I am pleased to have been part of the planning and sponsoring the Tale of
Two Cities, and I would like to thank the UI Conferences and Enrichment and
the other sponsors for making this visit and the other three presentations
a reality.
